FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BOLD

Fortune favours the bold, a famous proverb, delineates that one should not be afraid of taking on a path which scares one. It means that one should be bold in the pursuit of one’s dreams. Those who don’t get timid in the face of catastrophes often materialise their dreams into reality.
If only ‘thinking’ could get us something, we all would have everything. How fortunate it would have been if we could get everything we desire without facing the world. It’s true that many people give up on their dreams just because of the fear of facing people and the world. There is this famous proverb, ‘When the going gets tough, the tough get going’.  It is wise to always believe in luck, but this wiseness turns into foolishness if you wait for luck by just sitting idle.
Serendipity always works in the favour of those who act boldly. Never ever history let us witnessed success earned by those who did nothing else than waiting for a miracle.
Fortune or Luck is something that comes to one by chance, it can be on any person’s side. Many a time luck favoured the villain and the foolish too. It only demands one thing and that is the courage to stand up and take the risk. Even the villain and foolish get up for things they want. It’s the rule of life that if you ever want to achieve the thing you always dreamed of, you have to be ready for risks. Your duty is to take risks, be courageous and fortune or luck will play its role. Once you start taking risks, new and new challenges will open up that will make you bolder. And once you become bold, fortune will follow you everywhere.
We are all very well aware of this historical figure named Martin King Luther. Martin Luther is the man behind putting racism to an end in the US.  When King observed that, even after hundred years later of the independence of US, the Negroes are living a life of slaves, he developed a desire to free them.  After so many struggles, he became a Civil Right leader whose main aim was to end discrimination from the US. It was the riskiest and hardest thing to do at that time when America was racially segregated and it was risky in the way that a black person stood against it. The time when, in all ways, a white person was above black, how could have King thought that he can fight it. The only answer to it is ‘his dream’.  If there was anything that kept him going, knowing the dangers and risks, was his dream, ‘the dream of equality’. He didn’t only dream but dreamed with conviction. When, in front of 250,000 people, King delivered his masterpiece ‘I have a dream’ speech in which by dream he did not only mean dream but revolution. He did not only saw that dream but stood up to transform it into reality and that’s where fortune came on his way too.
Another powerful example is of famous and youngest Nobel Prize winner, Malala Yousufzai.  One of the hardest things to do is to, struggle to, achieve things you love in the face of adversaries. Malala is an example for all that you can do or achieve anything in the world if you are bold. Even being aware of all the dangers and threats from Taliban, Malala continued to get what she loved: education.  Malala was unfortunate to get attacked at such a young age but bold enough that even fortune and luck played its part in saving her life.  She believed in the possibility of achieving things that seem impossible to many.  She even today, after many sacrifices at a very young age, leads by example and continues to inspire everyone. All her success owes to her boldness.
The above two influencing example make us remember the Louis Pasteur’s famous quote,

They were not only passionate but daring. Fortune definitely favours those who never step away from tackling the difficulties and pains. There are millions who desire fortune but best of them are those who work to deserve fortune.  Never let anything go down and this is when fortune will start following you. When you don’t even strive for anything and you luckily get what someone else deserved, even, somewhere, inside you feel guilty. Work with diligence, never give up, keep motivating yourself and see how fortune walks along with you.

Roman philosopher Seneca conclude, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.
